 We are excited to announce that this year we will be partnering with Magnitude Strength and Power.  This 6 week program will be held on Wednesdays, Sept 14 - Oct 26th 2:15-3:15pm at Hingham Middle School Fields.  

This is a great opportunity for our athletes to work on strength, fitness and injury prevention.  We believe that participation will not only benefit players during the season but will give them a foundation to grow as athletes.

Small Group / Private field hockey

We are excited to offer Fall field hockey for grades K-8 again this year.  

Hingham middle school field hockey is open to Hingham residents.  Each team will have 1- 2 weekday practices per week and 7-9 games against other towns/teams. Most games will be played on Saturdays.  Practice days/times are tentative and will be finalized in late August.  Game schedules will be released in early September.  After registration players will be contacted by HYFH coaches with more specific information about the season.

Our K-3 program will focus on teaching field hockey fundamentals through fun games, activities and drills.  Players will rotate through stations where they will play games and learn field hockey basics.  All players need cleats, shin guards, field hockey stick and mouthguard.

4th-5th

Our 4th - 5th grade program focuses on teaching field hockey fundamentals with a focus on game play.  All players will be divided into teams (no friend requests please) and play a 7v7 game each week.  

We are so excited to join the Commonwealth league this year!  All teams will practice during the week and play league games on Saturdays.  Please check out the Commonwealth league website for all up to date schedules.

Hingham youth field hockey is excited to once again be offering Fall field hockey to grades K-3. Players will learn field hockey fundamentals in a fun environment. Our goal at this age is to help foster a love of the sport. Players need a field hockey stick, mouthguard, shin guards and cleats.

4th & 5th grade program

Hingham youth field hockey is excited to launch our new 4th/5th grade field hockey program. This program will teach new players the fundamentals of field hockey and increase experienced players skills and knowledge of the game. Players will be placed on BALANCED teams (no friend requests please). Sunday sessions will include a 25 minute practice and a game with two 20 minute halves. New this year, we will be offering 4 optional weekday skills sessions for players to have more opportunity to learn and improve their field hockey skills. These dates are TBD and will be announced in late August.

HYFH is growing and we are looking for more coaches for our program.  We are looking for coaches at all levels.  K-5 coaches are needed for Sunday skills clinics.  We are also looking for a middle school coach for the Fall 2021 season.  All coaching positions are paid.  Please email Hinghamyouthfieldhockey@gmail.com if you are interested.

We will have teams for 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  Practices will be held twice a week and games against other towns/schools will be played throughout the season.  This year players will also have the option to opt into a 7v7 league.

Teams will be capped at 20-22 kids so we will be shutting off registration and going to a waitlist.  So register early so you don't miss out!  If we can find more coaches we will add more teams/players.  Please reach out if you are interested in coaching (it is a paid position).

When - September 9/10 - October 24 (ish)

Cost - $250

Practices - Tuesday and Thursday or Monday and Wednesday for 1.5 hours.  Exact time for each team is TBD.  Practices will be at Cronin field.  Optional 3rd day of conditioning and skills location and time is TBD.

Games - TBD could be during the week or weekends.  Each team will play between 3-8 games plus the Cohasset Jamboree.

Uniforms - We will be ordering new uniforms this year.  We will have uniforms available in the spring for sizing.  Stay tuned for date and time.

Evaluations -  6th graders will have an evaluation day on June 2 at 10:30 at Carlson field.  At this point only 6th grade will have two teams.  If that changes we will add additional evaluation times.
